 Our
academy is a small, comfortable school and we teach in a very family
atmosphere. We are sited in the Miraflores-Alto district,
which is very quiet, near the protected forest of Quito, to the touristic
center and to the old town. This district will offers an unique image of
Qutio to the students. There are family houses and the typical small
shops. Nearby the school there are busstops with buses to the Avenida
Amazonas and Colon (touristic center 15min.), to the airport(20min.) or to
the old town(15 min.) or to other districts of Quito.
The house where we are teaching offers
all basic services and all anemities for the students. There are
classrooms, living room with kitchen, toilets, office and a roof-terrace,
where we study, if the weather is good. We have phone, computer with fax
and internet access, television, videoplayer and a library with Spanish,
English, German books, travelbooks, didactic books and different
dictionaries.
The courses
 Principally we offer individual classes - one to one.
On demand we are able to teach also to small groups of 2-5 students.
The lessons are based on an efficient program, including
vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, conversation, lectures and exercises
with an active participation of the student and his teacher.
Every week the student studies with another teacher. We do this to
offer different ways of instruction to the student. It is possible to
study with the same teacher all the time if the student prefers to.
At the beginning we evaluate the student within an
entrance test. The teacher will plan the course content together with the
student, to have an individual structure depending on the level and the
necessary use. The teachers fill in an instruction planning and control
form to inform the following teachers about treated topics and to
guarantee the most efficient way to teach.
Activities

Moreover we do extra activities with all the students
twice a week in the afternoons with visits to museums of different topics
and various historic epocues, tourist sites, the old town, markets; we
show videos, we cook typical food, we dance, play and discuss. We always
conduct these activities with explanations by a teacher or guide with the
purpose that the student will know more about Ecuadorian and South
American culture and about the town.
Some weekends the academy could organize optional activities like hikes to
the mountains or visits to villages and sites nearby. |
Accommodation
We offer the possibility to live with an Ecuadorian
family including a comfortable bedroom, two meals (breakfast and dinner),
warm water, laundry service and of course useful practice of the Spanish
language. Our contracted families are well
selected by the academy and offer adequate accommodation, healthy food and
a friendly atmosphere. The families are maximum 30 minutes away from the
school by bus. We are able to recommend or book
some hotels, inns or other tourist accommodations near the academy.
