With the Academia Latinoamericana de Español you can
study Spanish at the heart of the ancient Inca empire in Quito - Ecuador. It is an excellent program for those who wish to quickly
develop a working knowledge of Spanish and also to learn something of the
culture and customs of these fascinating Andean countries.
Academia Latinoamericana de Español, has prepared students since 1989 and
is registered with and recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education.
Certificates are awarded after completion of study, and college credit is
available in the United States. The program is also approved by the
Ecuadorian-German Chamber of Commerce and recognized as a Bildungsurlaub
in Germany.
Programs
Classes are 60 minutes in length. Students may enroll for a minimum of 4
hours a day up to a maximum of 7. Students may enroll for as many weeks as
desired. In order to make sufficient progress and gain the maximum benefit
from the course we recommend the following minimal duration: Beginner
(2-12 weeks), Intermediate (4-8 weeks) and Advanced (2-8 weeks).
Standard course: All classes will be in groups with a maximum 4
students per class, 20 hours per week. They will have highly structured
grammar lessons, interactive activities, conversation and written
exercises. Specific homework assignments are given daily and every student
is evaluated and tested on a weekly basis. Course starting dates: Every
Monday. Every weekly rate includes 5 days of classes (from Monday to
Friday), 7 days with your host family, 2 meals (breakfast and dinner),
laundry service, airport transfer upon arrival, and weekly activities with
the school. Mail service, money exchange, safety box, luggage storage, and
use of sports facilities are also included.

Super intensive cours: In the morning 4 hours of
Spanish classes in small group with a maximum of 4 students per class, and
in the afternoon 2 hours on a one-to-one basis. 30 hours per week. Course
starting dates: Every Monday. Every weekly rate includes 5 days of classes
(from Monday to Friday) 4 hours in small group in the morning and 2 hours
on individual basis in the afternoon, 7 days with your host family, 2
meals (breakfast and dinner), laundry service, airport transfer upon
arrival, and weekly activities with the school. Mail service, money
exchange, safety box, luggage storage, and use of sports facilities are

Individual lessons: This is our
one-to-one course. Every weekly rate includes 5 days of classes (from
Monday to Friday), 7 days with your host family, 2 meals (breakfast and
dinner), laundry service, airport transfer upon arrival, and weekly
activities with the school. Mail service, money exchange, safety box,
luggage storage, and use of sports facilities are also included.
Services
Facilities: A colonial
design, with interior patio, 21 classrooms, video room with amplification
equipment, library, teachers room, auditorium, solarium, cafeteria, a
multipurpose indoor court (racquetball, wallyball, speed soccer and
basketball field), internet service, access and bathroom for wheelchair
users, elevator, nine classes with digital connection for interactive
participation between the schools in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia
Accommodation: Host family accommodations with private room are
included with all weekly rates, providing a loving, attentive home
network. Breakfast, dinner and laundry service are provided by your
family. Only a very few host families live more than a 10-20 minute walk
from the school. Single-married couples and parents with children can all
be accommodated. Hotel accommodation can also be arranged if desired.
Activities: As part of the program, you will have an opportunity to
learn about the country, its history, and the people. In addition to
lectures, we offer trips to places of interest such as museums, fruit
markets, professional soccer games, and a night at the folkloric ballet.
You can participate in as many activities as you like during your program
at the Academia Latinoamericana. Organized trips or group activities are
offered 2 - 4 times/week. These provide a great opportunity to find out
about the country and its culture.
