Tours in Quito

Day 1

 

Arrival in Quito, which is the perfect place to begin exploring Ecuador. We pick you up from the airport and take you into the luxury hotel.

 

Day 2

 

Quito city tour and Middle of the World

City Tour begins with drive along upscale residential section.  View the impressive Parliament Building, whose stone mural records Ecuador’s rich history.  Then stroll downtown to visit historic temples and monasteries designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  Visit St. Augustine Convent, its beautiful cloisters and vast collection of paintings depicting the life of St. Augustine.  Continue to Independence Plaza, flanked by the Cathedral, Presidential Palace, Municipal Building, and  Archbishop’s Palace.  Then to magnificent Church of San Francisco, one of the great religious Baroque style buildings in the New World.   Drive 16 miles north to the Equatorial Monument marking the exact “Middle of the Earth”, and stand with one foot in each hemisphere.  Visit the Ethnographic Museum and then tour nearby colonial-style town before returning to your hotel.

 

Day 3 - 4 - 5

 

Daily activities at Arasha include a guided tour of the world of organic fruits and vegetables, a primary forest tour of Macallares, birding from the Mirador and other locations, a nocturnal tour of the tropical forest with torches and a tour of the chocolate factory. One spa treatment per person is also included. Enjoy exquisite cuisine with sumptuous desserts and natural fruit juices. Other activities offered include yoga, an exotic flower arrangement seminar and wellness seminars. The resort features Jacuzzis in a Mystic Cave, a hummingbird farm and sanctuary, a cultural Sangay theater, an ecologically friendly 18-hole mini golf course, a game room and a tropical fruit orchard. Located along the banks of the Rio Negrito, the resort’s mini white sand beach is ideal for relaxation.

 

Day 6

 

At scheduled hour, transfer to Quito for overnight at the Hotel.  Balance of day free to relax, shop for last minute souvenirs, or explore the city on your own.

 

Day 7

 

At scheduled hour, transfer to the Airport for flight homeward or next destination.
