 The San Francisco Spanish Language Institute (I.S.F.)
was registered with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education in 1991. It has
been operating successfully and continuously since then. The I.S.F. places
a strong emphasis on effective communication in each of these very
important areas: Family, Business, Personal care, Current affairs,
Travel/Transportation, Food/ dining. The I.S.F is professional in both its
management and outlook. The Administrator Ms. Lourdes Castro and her team
of teachers are all fully qualified, highly competent and have excellent
communication skills and proven modern teaching methods, thus ensuring
best results for students. The atmosphere is both friendly and relaxed.
In order to maximize results early emphasis is placed
on collecting from each student the following: first language knowledge,
knowledge of the world, previous learning experience, learning styles and
preferences, personality and personal circumstances (age, health,
difficulties to hearing, eyesight, and memory), as well as their existing
second language skills and goals.
Programs
Intensive Individual & Group Spanish courses 2h +

Programs for individuals and groups have been finely
honed over the years to the current high standards. These programs include four hours daily intensive study of the Spanish
language, plus two hours on both Tuesdays and Thursdays for extra
curricular activities such as: cultural visits, dancing lessons, cooking,
Ecuadorian and Latin-American History and Literature, Commercial Spanish.
Each program is designed to take into account the ability of the student. |
Intensive Individual & Group Spanish courses (4 hours
daily)
This program involves four hours daily intensive study
of the Spanish language. Once a week students along with their teachers
have the option to visit museums, indigenous markets, or the ever enticing
and magical colonial center of Quito.
Superior Spanish courses applied to different
specializations
 This course is specifically designed for students who
want to be fluent in the Spanish language and pass the official
Certificate from the Ministry of Education. (This applies to the
individual courses only and would require at least 160 hours of tuition,
3hours daily.) At this level, students will study advanced grammar (one
hour daily), discuss subjects and themes (one hour daily) such as:
Ecuadorian and Latino American Literature and History, Artistic Analysis
as applying to paintings, poetry and sculptures; translations and
Interpretations. Students will apply the advanced grammar to their
particular professions (one hour daily), i.e.: Medicine, Economics,
Marketing, Commercial Spanish, Law, etc. We will adapt courses to meet the
students' preferences and needs.
Tourist Spanish course
 Children between 4 and 11 years old and teenagers
between 12 and 16 are welcome to take practical Spanish courses during the
morning or afternoon, 2 hours daily. These courses focus for foreign
people who intend staying in Ecuador for a long time and want to learn the
language very quickly in order to be able to enter Ecuadorian schools and
high schools; or for foreign students who come to Ecuador for vacation and
want to learn the language.
This course has been devised by experts in teaching
Spanish as a foreign language. Our approach is to provide young students
with a clearly organized grammar and vocabulary base upon which we build
communicative skills. We aim for total immersion experience, so only
Spanish is spoken in class. The teacher - student average ratio is good at
1 to 6 ( we have a maximum 10 students per class). Our levels are
guaranteed, so students only study with classmates of the same ability and
age. Classes are fun as well as full-on, so you learn a lot in a relaxed
and informal atmosphere.
