Casa de Sucre Museum

The Casa de Sucre Museum is of Spanish architectural style, located in the Historic Center of Quito, inside it keeps the personal belongings of Marshal Antonio José de Sucre and his wife Mariana Carcelén, Marchioness of Solanda and Villarocha.

The house was built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in the Colonial era, it has two floors and each one keeps the dresses, belongings, furniture and memories of the triumphs of Marshal Sucre from the era of independence.

In 1977 the house was recovered by the Ministry of Defense and since then it has opened its doors to the public as a museum, where you can see the coats of arms of all the countries that together with Simón Bolívar, the European furniture in the main hall that they give a special touch to the house, in the patio a beautiful garden to taste of Mariscal Sucre. Also in the middle of the patio is a hexagonal fountain that can be seen from the balcony on the second floor.
