Quilotoa Lagoon

The Quilotoa Lagoon is located in the Zumbahua parish, in the Pujilí canton, in the province of Cotopaxi, it is part of the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve and just 3 hours from the city of Quito. It is one of the 15 lagoons of volcanic origin, considered to be the most beautiful in the world.

Quilotoa is an extinct and westernmost volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes, it houses a lagoon approximately 3 kilometers in diameter, the product of a collapse that occurred more than 800 years ago. It is an emerald green lagoon as an effect of the dissolved minerals in the place.

The Quilotoa lagoon has become one of the most spectacular places in Ecuador. Visitors marvel at its crafts, flora, fauna, climate, gastronomy, and geography.
