Academia de Español Quito, study abroad Spanish school was established in 1982. Our mission is to promote the study and practice of Spanish as well as to share Ecuador with students of all ages, from all over the world.

AEQ Spanish Programs help students gain command of the language, with a great scope of the culture and people of Latin America. Spanish programs are accommodating to students' time availability and budget.

Lessons cover grammar, vocabulary, conversational Spanish, written skills, and the invaluable experience of living the language.

AEQ is open year round, students may start class any day of the week, but a reservation needs to be placed. School is located in a central area of modern Quito.

Programs

We teach all levels of Spanish as a Second Language. Lessons are always in Spanish for all levels. Translation is not used so students learn directly, without going back and forth to their native language.

Students with knowledge of Spanish start with a written and oral placement test and program is customized according to the results.

Basic and Intermediate levels emphasize improving speaking and listening skills for general conversation in every day subjects such as the family, work, shopping, travel.

Upper-Intermediate and Advanced levels reinforce speaking and listening skills, refined through discussions on topics of interest (current issues, the media) debates, and oral presentations.

In addition to grammar, lessons include spelling, vocabulary, pronunciation exercises, linguistics, phonology, studies in Latin American culture and specific topics of discussion. Specific subjects such as Latin American Literature, History, Business, and Medical or Law vocabulary are available.

Individual Lessons: Activa, Intensiva, Optativa in Quito, offer private education with personalized lessons according to student's need. Student is the only focus of the teacher and does not feel limited by a group schedule.

Group lessons: Amigos in Quito and Anaconda at the Ecuadorian rainforest hold classes in small groups. This setting allows students to learn with friends and advance together. Group dynamics are a tool to challenge and improve Spanish speaking skills. Also, group lessons are more economical than individual learning.
