Otavalo

Otavalo or San Luis de Otavalo is known as the Dawn Valley for the picturesque Andean landscapes and for the famous Plaza de los Ponchos. Located in the province of Imbabura, 110 kilometers north of the city of Quito.

It was declared as the intercultural capital of Ecuador, for its cultural wealth, history, commercial development, traditions and gastronomy. It is also home to the indigenous Kichwa ethnic group, famous for its textile and commercial skills, characteristics that have made the place the largest artisan market in South America.

Otavalo is one of the most important tourist destinations in Ecuador. Surrounded by beautiful inter-Andean valleys, volcanoes and lagoons that are considered to be the most beautiful in the Andean region and in the country.

Plaza de los Poncho

It is the largest indigenous artisan market in South America. Here you can find ponchos, scarves, gloves, hats, t-shirts, pants, necklaces, earrings, vessels and a myriad of products.

Cuicocha Lagoon

It is the most beautiful and picturesque lagoon in the province of Imbabura, it has 3 kilometers in diameter and nine in perimeter, with an approximate depth of 148 meters. Located in the foothills of the Cordillera Occidental, at the foot of the Cotacachi volcano.

San Pablo Lagoon

Located at the foot of the majestic Imbabura volcano, just 10.7 km south of the city of Otavalo. It is the largest lake in the province and recognized by the Water Sports Festival. It is the ideal place for those who like adventure and adrenaline.
