The Botanical Garden of Quito is one of the main attractions of the city, located inside the La Carolina park. It is a space for the knowledge, protection and conservation of the plant heritage of the Ecuadorian Andes.
In 2018, the Botanical Garden of Quito was considered among the 10 best gardens in the world, for the diversity of plants that hide in its corners, including 1,300 endemic orchids of Ecuador, bromeliads, fuchsias, and native fruit trees.
It is also home to many butterflies, native and migratory birds, including hummingbirds. It also has the first Bonsai Museum in Ecuador with a hundred specimens that are characterized by their beauty, design and style.
