Chapel of Man

The Chapel of Man was inaugurated on November 29, 2002, it is a space where a heartfelt tribute is paid to the human being. Located in the Bellavista sector, north of the city of Quito.

It is a cultural center inspired by an Inca temple, inside it houses the artwork, anecdotes and part of the personal life of the Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín, also called a painter from Latin America. His work is the most important legacy in contemporary art in Ecuador,

As you walk through the wide corridors of the Capilla del Hombre, you can see the platinum copper dome, which illuminates and highlights the city of Quito at night. On the first floor a video is projected where the teacher Guayasamín gives a testimony of how to live in the present and what to expect from the future. The second floor is in the basement, where you can see the original sketches of "Faces of America", made in pencil and charcoal, and in watercolor.
