Itchimbia Park

The Itchimbía Park is located at 2,910 meters high, surrounded by traditional neighborhoods, such as: El Dorado, Tola and San Blas. It is part of the main viewpoints of Quito, since it offers a 360-degree view.

It is a historical place, also known as “La Botica de Quito”, because in the past the inhabitants of the city went to Itchimbía to collect medicinal plants. In addition, archaeological remains from the period of the Inca Conquest were found in this area, which is why it is believed to be a temple to worship the moon and the sun.

The Itchimbía Park has an approximate extension of 54 hectares, with soccer, basketball and volleyball fields, exercise machines, trails and viewpoints from where you can see the historic center, El Panecillo and on clear days you can see the nearby volcanoes and snowy mountains to Quito: Pichincha, Cayambe, Antisana, Atacazo, Corazón and Los Illinizas.

Also here is the Itchimbía Cultural Center, better known as the Crystal Palace, a suitable place to combine art, culture and tradition. Equipped with high technology, robotic lights, closed circuit television, panoramic view, audio with internal temperature control that guarantees quality sound.
