Mindo

Mindo a small town with exuberant nature ideal for bird watchers. Located in the San Miguel de Los Bancos Canton, in the Pichincha province, 80 kilometers northwest of the city of Quito.

Mindo is surrounded by 19'000 hectares protected by primary and secondary forest, where one of the richest variety of birds, butterflies, plants, fungi, wild flowers, including orchids and bromeliads is found.

It offers one of the most beautiful landscapes in Ecuador, due to its location in a valley on the western slope of the Andes, it is considered one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.

The temperature in the area ranges from 15ºC - 24ºC throughout the year. The rainy season runs from December to May, and the hot, dry season from June to November.

Mindo is currently known as the birthplace of the birders. Due to its natural beauty, it is the ideal place for lovers of ecotourism, flora and fauna.
