Plaza de los Ponchos - Peguche Waterfall - Cotacachi

Itinerary

In the morning, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel, to take you towards the province of Imbabura, we will visit the "Panamericana Norte", and we will make a brief stop at the "Mirador", natural observatory from which we will have an exceptional view of the Lake San Pablo and its surroundings, unique opportunity to take photographs.

Continuing with this walk and next to our objective, we will visit one of the places of greater tourist interest: The Market of Otavalo or also known as "Plaza de los Ponchos", here we will find a great variety of handmade fabrics made with natural sheep wool, spun by hand; small items carved in wood (the very rare "rosewood") that like artisan jewelry are the living reflection of the fantasy and creativity of a millenarian people, settled ancestrally in these parts.

Later, we will continue to our next destination, the Cascada de Peguche, a waterfall of 20 meters high, which is born in Lake San Pablo, a magical place, considered sacred by the indigenous communities of the area, we will walk its paths and enjoy of an authentic natural paradise.

To continue with our tour, we will arrive to Cotacachi, the ideal place to go shopping, this community is famous for the production of a variety of natural leather articles, skins of the best quality, with which they elaborate all kinds of clothing, as well as wallets, shoes, belts and more products, which are sold at very reasonable prices.

At the end of the afternoon, we will return to the city of Quito.
