La Cathedral church
The construction was started in the 16th century,
swiftly after the Diocesis de Quito was raised, but it was ended in the
19th century. It has a beautiful atrium which opens towards the square,
and several sculped hall doors stand out in the facade. in one of them,
San Pedro shows the keys of the Reign on his hand. The door that is used
in the present is in the Garcia Moreno St. Mariscal Sucre's remains rest
in this church, he defeated the spanish in the Battle of Pichincha. |
